6ix9ine is attempting to define what the term “rat” means.
The example he provided—seemingly, in an attempt to push back against the narrative that he, himself, is a rat—was why Migos split up. During a conversation on One Night with Steiny, Tekashi echoed the rumor that the rap trio parted ways because Offset allegedly slept with Saweetie.
“All these rappers is rats,” 6ix9ine told host Aaron Steinberg at around the 36:10 minute mark. “I’m not saying these [are] facts, but this [is] the rumor. Quavo’s girl was Saweetie, right? They said Offset slept with Saweetie, that’s why the Migos fell out,” he added. “The game is full of rats. If you sleep with your homie girl, that’s rat material.”
69 then spoke on loyalty and what that means if you’re in “the streets.”
“When you join the streets, you sign up for loyalty. All these street dudes got loyalty tatted. All these street dudes got integrity, principles, right? If that’s your homie, why you sleep with his girl?”
He then put it all together. “Why did Migos split?” he asked. “Why was Takeoff and Quavo riding around [dolo] for so long? What did Offset do [that was] so harmful to not be part of Migos? They still not together til now, and they already lost Takeoff,” he explained of the late rapper.
“Where’s all this integrity and the rule book of loyalty? ‘Cause ratting is no loyalty, right? So if I’m fucking your girl, is that loyalty?” he asked.
Rumors that Offset cheated on Cardi B with Saweetie surfaced in 2022, a year after Saweetie and Quavo broke up in 2021. Cardi was directly confronted with the gossip online when a troll told the Bronx hitmaker she was “lying” about her then-husband sleeping with Saweetie.
“No baby you lying!” Cardi tweeted in August 2022. “You makin crazy lies starting shit and putting female rappers in it WIT NO RECEIPTS, no blog ever spoke on this all of a sudden you come out of jail 5 days ago and you made up lied for 2 hours wit NO RECEIPTS!”
Around the time of the cheating scandal, Migos started to unravel. In May 2022, TMZ asked Quavo about the group breaking up. He refused to answer the question, claiming he had nothing to say.
Talk about Migos disbanding was making the rounds online, too. Fans noticed that Offset and his wife, Cardi B, had unfollowed Quavo and Takeoff on Instagram, and that Quavo was no longer following Offset, leading some to believe there had been some kind of falling out. Takeoff, however, was still following Offset and Cardi.
In May 2022, Quavo and Takeoff announced their duo, Unc & Phew, and released their debut single, “Hotel Lobby" from their album, Only Built For Infinity Links. The gossip was further fueled by the project cut, “Messy,” which many interpreted as Quavo accusing Saweetie of sleeping with someone he knew.
“Bitch fucked my dog behind my back, but I ain't stressin' (Not at all) / You wanted the gang, you should've just said it, we would've blessed it,” Quavo raps.
Sadly, Takeoff died in November 2022, only a month after the arrival of Only Built For Infinity Links. It seems, though, as if Set and Quavo have since repaired their relationship.
This August, Offset told the 7PM in Brooklyn With Carmelo Anthony podcast, “We holla at each other every other week. That’s family at the end of the day. You’re gonna bump heads with your family sometimes, but ain’t nobody playing with me, ain’t nobody playing with him … nobody.”
Offset's alleged affair with Saweetie isn't the only rumor 6ix9ine has recently addressed. Over the weekend, the "Gummo" rapper claimed during his DJ Vlad interview that multiple rappers had sex with Bhad Bhabie before she turned 18.
