UPDATED Sept. 9, 7:54 p.m. ET: Nicki Minaj has shared another take on the Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne debate, saying, "You can love & respect Kendrick and still love & respect Wayne. Even Kendrick loves & respects Wayne. Every real rapper loves & respects Wayne."

Nicki Minaj has seemingly chimed in on all the talk surrounding the announcement that Kendrick Lamar will perform at the Super LIX Halftime Show, and she also appeared to take shots at Jay-Z during the process.
"One n***a took a knee. The other n***a took the bag," she tweeted on Monday, Sept. 9, appearing to reference Colin Kaepernick. "He gon get you 'n*****s' in line every fkng time. ... Got everything in the world. Still spiteful & evil. Disgusting. Be happy Abeg. Go be fang happy n***a!!!!! In rap business. In women business. When you got the politicians & the police you good tho. Plus dat ugly laugh taffy alien."
In follow-up tweets, she made it abundantly clear whom she was addressing. She retweeted a person who suggested that Roc Nation, who is in a long-term partnership with the NFL as the league's official live music entertainment strategists, will appear in the search results for everything on X, formerly Twitter.
"Yup. Everyone's aware. Clearly they don't care. So why should I? What ima do Chi?" she continued. "Tried to tell y'all but y'all wanted brunch LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO I'M ON A FKNG ROLL. WAIT. HACKED. HACKED."
She followed up by accusing the music industry of "playing dumb." She added, "Y'all know his next move is going to be to tell y'all a 'certain someone' is being treated soooooo unfairly so that y'all can go back into that trance. ... Go & enjoy your fkng money b4 it's too late."
She then made it clear that she wanted to see Lil Wayne, who is from New Orleans where the Super Bowl LIX will take place, perform during the Halftime Show.
"You don't know half of what Lil Wayne has done for me & others," she wrote. "Wayne had Drake & I on his tour w/no papers signed. He was on all of my mixtapes w/no tapes signed. This man has literally changed the FACE of hip hop. ... He never was in this for the money. It's always been for the love of music."
She then seemingly accused Jay-Z of "denying" Lil Wayne's chance to perform at the show because of petty reasons.
"Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego," she wrote. "Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!! THE GOAT ?!!!!!!! Nola what's good?!!!!!! Eminem stood firm on having 50 Cent come out. A white man. Shit sad. House n****r tingz. But it's GOOD FI DEM!!!!!! No loyalty? Well Then n****z will keep son'ing you!!!!"
As of press time, Nicki is still voicing her outrage. She retweeted Birdman, who also had some words about Lil Wayne not being chosen to do the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
She then made a point about giving our legends their flowers while they're still around.
"God forbid if Wayne was to leave this earth right now, the culture would be in mourning. That’s why so many ppl keep saying to give our legends their flowers while they are still around to smell them. Sitting around all day playing games with ppl life & legacy. God ain’t sleep. Gee Roberson you will learn that, too. Very soon. #GAGCITYDC TONIGHT!!!!!!! #DTLR."
Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj sparked rumors of a beef with Jay-Z and Beyoncé after she accused Roc Nation of paying to promote Megan Thee Stallion's "Hiss," a record on which she took shot as Nicki. She accused Megan of pretending to be an independent artist because she releases her music through her Hot Girl imprint but is managed through Roc Nation. Nicki previously attended Roc Nation Brunches, but she stopped attending after she broke up with Meek Mill in 2017.
Other instances of Nicki criticizing Roc Nation include a tweet from January, in which she threatened to expose the company's CEO, Desiree Perez.
Following the announcement that K. Dot would play the Halftime Show, a number of notable figures in the hip-hop industry suggested that Lil Wayne should have been chosen to headline the performance. Funkmaster Flex said he agreed with the idea Weezy should perform, but he also said that people should "stop blaming Jay-Z for everything."
