Megan Thee Stallion and K-pop superstar Psy have been tapped by Apple TV+ to front new eight-part competition series KPopped — watch the first trailer above.
The series — which drops on Apple TV+ on August 29 — sees several Western artists teaming up with some of the biggest names in K-pop to reimagine some of their best songs.
The Western artists will 'K-Poppify' their tracks with groups including BILLIE, Itzy, KEP1ER, JO1, Ateez, STAYC, Kiss of Life and Blackswan. The artists they're teaming up with include Kesha, Vanilla Ice, Spice Girls, Eve, J Balvin, Kylie Minogue, TLC, Boy George, Ava Max and Boyz II Men.
The show is hosted by actor-comedian Soojeong Son, while Psy and Megan Thee Stallion star. Megan also serves as an executive producer on the project alongside the likes of Moira Ross and Lionel Richie. KPopped promises to feature all-new remixes of tracks including "Savage," "Wannabe," "Can't Get You Out of My Head," "Waterfalls" and "Ice Ice Baby."
The trailer offers a quick look at what fans can expect from the competition series, which culminates in a live performance in Seoul, South Korea, between the collaborators in which the audience will decide the winner.
It also gives a preview of some of the intensive training and rehearsals that all the stars have to participate in, with J Balvin admitting that he can't quite keep up with the K-pop artists because he's not quite the dancer they are.
