Dallas Rapper FBG Murda Arrested After Being Shot In Shop Altercation

The rapper, real name Cayto Rivers, was shot at a muffler shop in Irving this week, and he's been named a suspect in the case.

Rising Dallas drill rapper FBG Murda was shot this week, but police have announced that he's also a suspect in the case.

As reported by KDFW, Irving police confirmed that the 21-year-old, born Cayto Rivers, and 21-year-old Elijah Jacobs got into an argument with the owners of Zak Muffler's Shop on Thursday (August 28). According to the police report, the two went into a restricted area of the business when they argued with the business owners and pulled out firearms.

An individual was pulled out of a vehicle as the two tried to flee the scene, and a firearm was discharged during the altercation. FBG Murda was struck by a bullet, but it's not clear who fired the shot. The two were later apprehended by police officers, with Jacobs charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and FBG Murda taken to a nearby hospital. He's expected to be booked into jail on the same charge when he's released from the hospital.

Witness Martha Ordaz said that she saw the altercation unfold from a business across the street. "We see a white car with two guys, younger guys, running fast," said Ordaz. "We don't know how he [a Zak Muffler's Shop employee] got hurt, but he was bleeding from his arm."

"Preliminary investigation revealed that a dispute between two customers (suspects) and the business owners (victims) escalated into a physical altercation," reads a statement from the Irving PD, per the Dallas Observer. "The suspects had entered a restricted area of the muffler shop. When confronted and asked to leave, they became verbally aggressive and brandished firearms. To prevent the suspects from drawing their weapons, the victims physically restrained them. During the struggle, the suspects threatened to shoot the victims. As one victim held onto a suspect, the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle, dragging the victim alongside. During this altercation, a firearm was discharged, and one suspect was struck."

FBG Murda is not named as a victim in the case, but a suspect. FBG Murda has steadily built up a fanbase, with almost 400,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. One of his tracks, a collaboration with BAK Jay, has over 11 million streams alone.
