Fresh off the announcement that he'll be performing at the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show next year, Bad Bunny was interviewed by Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden and spoke about when Jay-Z first told him the news.
"I was in the middle of a workout," Bad Bunny shared when asked about getting the call from Hov, whose company Roc Nation produces the halftime shows. "I remember that after the call, I just did, like, 100 pull-ups. I didn't need more pre-workout shit... It was very special."
On Sunday, Sept. 28, Bad Bunny officially revealed that he would be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. The hugely successful artist, who avoided doing dates in the United States recently in favor of a world tour and a residency in Puerto Rico, joked alongside the announcement, "I was thinking these days, and after talking to my team, I think I will do one date in the United States."
Elsewhere in the interview, he shared that he was so excited to finally share the news after keeping it secret for so long. He added that, despite previously appearing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show as a guest performer with headliners Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020, that he still thinks it's "crazy" that he's got the opportunity to headline.
"I remember that day we talk about it, like, 'Maybe in a few years I could be there,'" he said.
