Offset wasn’t joking when he said his “Move On” track from his new album Kiari is about finally closing the book on his relationship with Cardi B.
The song contains lyrics in which Offset alludes to his former wife not living up to his expectations in the marriage, including a bar taking a shot at her for "never" cooking and instead preferring expensive dining.
"You never cooked n***as no food, you just want go out to Nobu," he raps on the song.
Elsewhere on the track from the album, which arrived on Friday (Aug. 22), Offset raps: “You fucked around with the wrong dude, hope your next n***a be great.” The line appears to reference his former wife’s current love interest, NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
He condemns the marriage outright on the track: “Fuck the time that we had, it’s erased."
Before the album dropped, Offset confirmed that his new album addresses his relationship with Cardi. The rapper spoke about the meaning of "Move On" during a sit-down with the Associated Press.
“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully,” he explained. “That’s what the message is supposed to be. It’s all love and peace.”
“I just ended the album with that [song], just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with,” he continued. “It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”
Offset and Cardi B married in 2017 and filed for divorce in 2020 and again in 2024, amid rumors that the Atlanta rapper had been unfaithful to Cardi on multiple occasions.
Offset told Ebro Darden for Apple Music that he owned up to his actions while married to Cardi, admitting that “I fucked up."
In June, Cardi B revealed she felt she might have gone to jail for murder if she had stayed with Offset, and shared that she spent much of last September through February single, partying, reflecting, and “crying a lot.”
The former couple have three children together: Kulture Kiari, 7, Wave Set, 3, and Blossom, 11 months.
