Cardi B’s lawyer asked for “civility” in the courtroom as tempers flared.

Tensions spiked during the rapper’s assault trial on Wednesday (August 27) when plaintiff’s attorney Ron Rosen pressed her on language she used during her 2018 confrontation with security guard Emani Ellis.

Cardi was asked if she used the “F word” during the incident and then was asked to recall what “other words” she said to Ellis.

“What other words have you used? Tell us in your own words what you said,” Rosen said, as seen in the video linked above.

Cardi responded, “I said, ‘Bitch, get the fuck out of my face. Why are you in my face? Why are you recording me? Ain't you supposed to be security?’”

Rosen asked the Invasion of Privacy rapper to repeat the remarks directly “to her face.”

“You want me to tell it to her face?” Cardi shot back before her attorney Peter J. Anderson objected.

With the courtroom becoming heated, Anderson appealed to the judge, “Your Honor, can we have civility in this courthouse?”

Judge Ian Fusselman stepped in with, “Why don't we just take the temperature down a little bit? If you have actual questions to ask her, please do so. It's not time to argue with her.”

Cardi is on trial over a 2018 incident with Ellis, who was working as a security guard at an obstetrics and gynecology facility in Beverly Hills when an alleged confrontation occurred. At the time, the rapper was pregnant with her first child, Kulture.

Ellis claims that Cardi scratched her face with a fingernail she described as “about two or three inches long,” attempted to swing at her but missed, before body-shaming her, calling her a racial slur, and spitting on her.

Cardi’s legal counsel disputed the allegations.
