Cardi B’s doctor denied seeing her assault anyone during his testimony.

On Wednesday (August 27), gynecologist David Finke, who treated the rapper in February 2018 and witnessed the aftermath of her confrontation with security guard Emani Ellis, took the stand as a defense witness in her Los Angeles civil assault trial.

Under cross-examination by the plaintiff’s attorney Ron Rosen, Finke repeatedly answered “No” when asked if he saw Cardi spit on Ellis, swing at her, hit her, scratch her, threaten to have her fired, or call her names including “fat,” “poor,” or the N-word.

Rosen also asked the doctor whether he was motivated to “help Cardi B in this case” so he can “continue to receive celebrity clients.”

“It's very important for me to tell what happened that day and to ensure that anybody coming to my office, celebrity or not, doesn't have that type of experience,” Finke responded.

Elsewhere in the cross-examination, Finke described trying to get Ellis into the elevator by telling her to “stop and do your job.”

He also testified that he heard Ellis threaten, “I will fuck your shit up,” and saw her hit his receptionist.

Rosen asked, “At her deposition, [the] plaintiff testified that she was just focused on getting downstairs, close quote. Is that consistent with what you saw?”

“No,” Finke replied, adding, “It took me, I would have guessed 30 to 45 seconds to get her to get back on the elevator.”

Finke also recalled, “I called our practice administrator that day, and given what I had witnessed of the conduct of our security guard when I was out there, I said, ‘she needs to go.’”

Cardi is on trial over a 2018 altercation with Ellis, who was working as a security guard at an obstetrics and gynecology facility in Beverly Hills when an alleged confrontation occurred. At the time, the rapper was pregnant with her first child, Kulture.

Ellis claims that Cardi scratched her face with a fingernail that she described as “about two or three inches long,” attempted to swing at her but missed, before body-shaming her, calling her a racial slur, and spitting on her.

Cardi’s attorneys deny the allegations.
