Fans may have gotten a double dose of Summer Walker on Cardi B’s new album Am I the Drama? — but this simply was not enough.

Over the past year, Walker has been teasing the release of her third full-length studio album Finally Over It. She’s promoted the album with the single “Heart of a Woman,” which was released last October and “Spend It,” which was released this past May. Still, Walker has not shared a release date for Finally Over It, and no announcement appears imminent.

But on Friday, September 25, some fans took matters into their own hands by launching a Change.org petition urging Walker to drop the album before the end of the year.

“Join us in asking Summer Walker to release ‘Finally Over It’ within this year,” reads a letter on the petition. “Your signature can make a difference by showing just how much her music means to us. Help us bring this request to light, and let’s enjoy the magic of her music once more.”

At the time of writing, the petition has over 500 signatures. Some fans have also commented on the petition, expressing excitement for the long-awaited album.

“I need Summer to drop this album or it’ll be my life that goes first,” one fan joked. “Only still alive bc Summer ain’t drop yet. But starting to feel hopeless that my Goddess will not deliver and I will be unalived.”

Walker released her debut album Over It in 2019. Her critically acclaimed debut peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawned hits like “Body,” “Playing Games” with Bryson Tiller, and “Come Thru” with Usher. She released the follow-up Still Over It in 2021. Though this was her last full-length release, she dropped her EP Clear 2: Soft-Life in 2023, which featured the J. Cole collaboration “To Summer, From Cole.”

Her most recent contributions to music come in the form of the Cardi B collaborations “Dead” and “Shower Tears” which dropped earlier this month. She’s also currently supporting Chris Brown on his buzzy Breezy Bowl Tour. With news songs in rotation, as well as fans applying the pressure, perhaps Finally Over It may come sooner than we think.
