Joie Chavis Says Her Family Is 'Rotating' Clothes Amid Wildfires: 'Everything Around Us Burnt Down'

The businesswoman, who welcomed her third child with Trevon Diggs last year, explained why she doesn't intend on returning to L.A.

Joie Chavis continues to reel from the Los Angeles wildfires.

The CEO mom took to Instagram on Wednesday, January 22, to shed more light on how the ongoing blazes have affected her family. Joie — who shares kids with Bow Wow, Future, and Trevon Diggs — said she and her children were staying at her mother’s house as uncertainty loomed over their living situation.

“My house didn’t burn down but I can’t go back there,” she told her followers. “They’re saying I can’t go back home for another 10 to 14 days. So, that’s crazy because we’re rotating four to five outfits, you know what I mean? But, like I said, I’m super grateful that our house is still intact. Everything around us burnt down.”

Joie said the deadly wildfires have motivated her to leave the L.A. area for good, as she’s experienced several setbacks over the past few years.

“You can understand why I do not want to live there. I think I’m just over it,” she continued. “I think with my robbery that happened a few years ago… and then the fires happening, I’m just ready to get out of L.A. It’s time to just refresh. I really want to cut my rent in half so I can save and buy a house. That was the plan anyways, to buy a house by the end of this year. I can find what I need for less than half of what I’m paying right now.”

Joie went on to say that the situation had left her in tears and feeling in limbo.

“I’ve just been crying because I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, what are we gonna do?’” she said. “I’m staying at my mom’s house right now. My renter’s insurance covers my hotel but I just feel like I don’t want to be in one room with three kids with no washer and dryer.”

Joie shared the update nearly five months after she and Diggs welcomed their first together. She also has a 13-year-old daughter with Bow Wow, and a 6-year-old son with Future.
