Stardust Racers is a dual-launch roller coaster at Universal Orlando Resort that reaches speeds of up to 62 miles per hour.

"Board a comet and rocket to the furthest reaches of the stars, at heights up to 133 feet along 5,000 feet of track," the theme park's website says. "Race along an inverted crisscross, known as the 'Celestial Spin' in a dazzling display of blazing colors and ethereal music."

However, tragedy unfolded for a man named Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, 32, who was found unresponsive after going on the roller coaster and died at a hospital.

How did Zavala die? His cause of death has now been released.

According to Click Orlando, the medical examiner says that Zavala died from “multiple blunt impact injuries," with the manner of death being listed as an "accident." He did not fall from the roller coaster, according to the site. What exactly went wrong during the ride is not yet clear.

Maria Fernandez, who was also on the roller coaster, told Click Orlando: "When I was on the ride, the travel finishes, and one girl starts to say, ‘Help! Help! Help!’ The girl was screaming, and we didn’t understand what happened.”

Zavala's leg appeared broken, she told the television station.

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, son, uncle, and friend, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, who tragically lost his life in an unexpected accident," a GoFundMe page says.

"Kevin was truly one of a kind. He had an old soul—wise beyond his years—with a heart full of compassion, love, and understanding. He was the kind of person who always made time to listen, offer thoughtful advice, and lift others up, even when he was facing challenges of his own," it adds.

"Despite the restrictions and obstacles he encountered throughout his life, Kevin met them all with grace, strength, and an unwavering spirit. He overcame so much, and he did so with quiet resilience and humility."

"Universal has been extremely cooperative and has complied with all required notifications. This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be released as it is available," Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Communications Director Aaron Keller told Florida Today.
