It has only been a few months since convicted killer Bryan Kohberger was handed down four consecutive life sentences for the murders of Idaho college students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle. However, according to recent reports, his short time behind bars has already been full of struggle.

Steve Goncalves, the father of Kaylee Goncalves, joined reporter Ashleigh Banfield for her news program “Banfield” on Tuesday night to provide an update about what he has heard about how Kohberger has been faring in prison. His daughter, Alivea, also made an appearance on the show.

“I have heard that he isn’t doing so well in that prison system that he’s in, the block that he’s at. He’s very adamant that he has rights in there that need to be respected,” Steve said.

“You don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time. And he’s going to be doing the time. And I’ve been hearing a lot about how the amount of noise that he’s making in there isn’t doing him any favors,” he continued.

Reports have revealed that Kohberger has made multiple complaints about how he has been treated behind bars and demands that he has rights that he feels are being violated.

Kohberger is being held in Idaho’s supermax prison, where he reportedly remains in solitary confinement. It’s also been reported that prisoners at the facility knew that he was coming ahead of time and planned to make his time there as difficult as possible. They have done this by consistent taunting and heckling.

Meanwhile, Lifetime has shared that they will be filming a movie based on the horrific murders, with actor Miles Merry being cast to play Kohberger. This news has been very upsetting to the Goncalves family.

“It’s really angering. Honestly, from my side, my sisters aren’t a headline; they’re not a Lifetime movie, and I get incredibly frustrated at the scripted aspect of it,” said Alivea, referring to both Kaylee and her close friend Mogen.
